West Coast Special
The CONCERT JAZZ ORCHESTRA VIENNA pays hommage to the great big bands and writers of the west coast. After spending a few months focusing on the east coast of America with our successful "Grettings from New York" program we´ve decided to spend some time on the music that came out of L.A. in the 1950´s with great original charts from Gerry Mulligan, Lenny Niehaus, Johnny Mandel and of course Bill Holman. For everyone that enjoyed our Stan Kenton program last summer you know what´s in store: Great swinging big band music!!! We´ve also got music from Don Menza, Bob Florence and the Terry Gibbs Dream Band to round out our evening. So, see you for a hot night of cool west coast sounds with the CJOV!
